Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said: “Today some call us the world’s fourth superpower.”
According to Iranian news agency Tasnim News, Mojtaba Khamenei said in his statement that the powers that once wanted to dominate Iran now have to face Iran’s military capabilities, and the country’s defence capabilities have changed the balance of power compared with past decades.
The Iranian Supreme Leader said that today Iran has moved beyond a stage of dependence and weakness and achieved independence, strength and a prominent place in the Islamic world.
Mojtaba Khamenei said: “The past to which our enemy wants to return is gone and will never come back.”
According to BBC Persian, Mojtaba Khamenei said in his message that Iran has now reached a stage where the aggressor and domineering powers themselves “seek refuge and beg for an end to the war”.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since succeeding his father, nor has any direct audio or video message from him been released. All messages attributed to him have so far been published only in written form through state media or sources linked to them.
