The protest camp against enforced disappearances by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued outside the Quetta Press Club on its 6,397th day.

Advocate Syed Mohsin Shah of the Hyderabad High Court visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the families of the missing persons.

Speaking on the occasion, Syed Mohsin Shah said enforced disappearances are a serious violation of the country’s laws and of human rights. These actions cannot silence the voices raised for the Baloch nation’s legitimate rights; rather, they will increase hatred for the state and state institutions in the hearts of the people of Balochistan.

He demanded that the use of force in Balochistan be avoided and the issue be resolved politically. Enforced disappearances and extra-constitutional actions must be stopped completely and the recovery of all missing persons ensured. Those facing accusations should be brought into the open and produced in court so that they have the right to defend themselves and seek legal remedy.

VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch said the organisation’s peaceful and constitutional struggle will continue until enforced disappearances and extrajudicial actions end and all missing persons are recovered.
