The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has strongly condemned the forces’ quadcopter attack on children in Panjgur, calling it state terrorism.

In a statement, the BYC said the targeting of children in a Pakistani forces’ bombing at Fateh Ali Bazaar, Gwargo, Panjgur, is another horrific example of the collective punishment and state terrorism under way in Balochistan. In this attack on 3 October, 9-year-old Arman, son of Anwar, and 10-year-old Amal, son of Salim Jan, lost their lives, while 9-year-old Shahid, 7-year-old Zahid, son of Shahid, and 12-year-old Noorullah, son of Rafiq, were injured.

The statement said targeting innocent children is unacceptable under any circumstances. This is not just an incident but a policy of continuing the Baloch genocide in Balochistan through fear, violence and collective punishment. With every new incident, this continuing state repression further exposes how little Baloch human lives are valued in Balochistan.

The statement said the Baloch Yakjehti Committee demands that the ongoing collective punishment, military offensives and grave human rights violations against Baloch citizens be stopped immediately. There must be accountability for the killing of innocent children, and the people of Balochistan must be given the right to live with protection, justice, freedom and their political rights.

According to the spokesperson, even more worrying is that despite such incidents happening almost daily, there is no effective response from human rights bodies and the international community. The bloodshed in Balochistan raises questions about the silence of all the institutions that claim to defend the rights of every human being. We demand that state terrorism in Balochistan be stopped immediately and those responsible for war crimes be held accountable.
