The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has condemned in strong terms the rising incidents of grave human rights violations, repression and extrajudicial killings by the Frontier Corps (FC) in Balochistan.
Releasing details of the killing of two Baloch young men by the FC in Uthal and Turbat, the spokesperson appealed to the international community and human rights organisations for immediate intervention.
According to the statement, on 22 September 2026, FC personnel targeted and killed 19-year-old Rasheed Lasi, son of Jaleel Ahmed, in Gajiri, Sokhan, in the Uthal area. Rasheed Lasi came from a poor family and worked as a goatherd to support his family.
The BYC said that at an age when Rasheed should have been studying at school, poverty had forced him into hard labour, yet the security forces took away even his basic right to live.
In the second incident, 24-year-old labourer Changez, son of Muhammad Ibrahim, a resident of Alandoor Boalida, was forcibly disappeared by the FC from his residence in the Apsar area of Turbat on 4 September 2026. After keeping him formally missing for 14 days, FC personnel called his family to Apsar camp on 17 September and showed them a photo of Changez’s body, which made clear that he had been killed with extreme brutality by severe blows to the head with a heavy object, while his body was also disappeared.
The Baloch Yakjehti Committee said extrajudicial killings, fake encounters, targeted killings and enforced disappearances have become a daily routine in Balochistan. Under which constitution and law are citizens picked up from their homes, tortured in custody and killed?
The spokesperson demanded that the United Nations (UN), international human rights organisations and the international community take immediate notice of the ongoing grave human rights violations in Balochistan and these actions by the security forces, have the incidents investigated independently and transparently, and hold the security personnel involved accountable.
