Sanjay Kumar Panjwani, Parliamentary Secretary for Minority Affairs, Balochistan, and a central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party’s minority affairs wing, condemned the abduction of a girl from the Hindu community of Sibi, saying such incidents create insecurity in the minority community, which we will not accept under any circumstances.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation led by Mukhi Amir Chandal, focal person for minority affairs.
Sanjay Kumar Panjwani said the Hindu and minority communities living in Sibi and across Balochistan are not without protectors; the young girl abducted from Sibi must be recovered immediately to end the unease among her parents and the minority community living in Balochistan.
Earlier, Mukhi Amir Chandal and Mukhi Imran Chandal gave detailed information about the young Hindu girl, saying that Bindiya Kumari daughter of Sanjay Kumar, from Sibi, is a very innocent child aged 14; under Pakistan’s constitution and law, underage marriage is a crime, and this girl was forcibly abducted.
On this occasion, Sanjay Kumar Panjwani said that because of such incidents the minority community in Sibi, Quetta, Kolpur, Mach, Dera Murad Jamali and across Sindh and Balochistan has become insecure.
He said the minority community living in Sibi and across Balochistan is not without protectors; it has representation in the provincial and national assemblies and in the Senate for its protection, which will raise its voice on every forum.
He added that the provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan should recover the abducted innocent girl and end the unease among her parents and the minority communities of Sindh and Balochistan. The federal government should take concrete practical steps to prevent such incidents and protect the minority community living in Sibi and Balochistan. We share equally in Sanjay Kumar’s difficult moment and pray that his innocent daughter is recovered and returns home immediately.
It should be noted that Sanjay Kumar Panjwani told the delegation that the incident had been raised in the provincial assembly. Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Khan Bugti took notice of the incident and directed the DIG and SSP of Sibi to arrest the suspect and recover the girl as soon as possible.
