The ongoing session of the Balochistan Assembly in Quetta, the main city of Balochistan, was ended after a short time because of alarming reports received about the BLF’s ongoing Operation Almas in Gwadar.
After the session was adjourned, Balochistan ministers and most assembly members turned to the journalists in the press gallery to get the latest information about the ongoing armed clashes in Gwadar, the attacks on military installations and the situation on the ground.
According to reports from Gwadar, fierce clashes are continuing in various parts of the city under the Baloch Liberation Front’s (BLF) “Operation Almas”, and pictures of the organisation’s flags flying over military camps are also circulating on social media.
In addition, there were reports of the killing of several senior military personnel, which the BLF has confirmed.
Assembly members and government circles are expressing deep concern over the situation in Gwadar; however, despite all this, government and military officials have issued no formal denial or confirmation about control changing in various parts of the city or about losses, leaving an atmosphere of uncertainty in political and administrative circles.
