The protest camp against enforced disappearances in Balochistan by Voice for Baloch Missing Persons (VBMP) continued outside the Quetta Press Club on its 6,389th day.
On this occasion, Khan Muhammad, father of Muhammad Riaz Satakzai, who was forcibly disappeared from the Degari Cross FC checkpost on 6 May, attended the protest camp and recorded his protest against his son’s continued disappearance.
Khan Muhammad said that on the commission’s orders the police station concerned and senior officials recorded his statements about his son’s enforced disappearance, but despite this neither the reasons for his son’s arrest are being given nor is any information being provided about him. Because of this situation, his family is suffering severe mental torment.
He appealed to the senior authorities to ensure his son’s safe recovery.
VBMP chairman Nasrullah Baloch demanded that the government ensure the recovery of all forcibly disappeared persons, including Muhammad Riaz Satakzai. If any missing person is accused of anything, he said, they should be brought into the open and produced in court, and their families freed from long waiting, anguish and mental torment.
