Two police personnel and a state death squad operative were killed in two separate firing incidents in Naseerabad and Panjgur, Balochistan.

In Dera Murad Jamali, Naseerabad district, today, Saturday, unidentified armed men opened fire on a police patrol on a motorcycle near Bedar bridge, killing two head constables, Ahmed Lesari and Malik Bugti, on the spot.

Confirming the incident, DSP Ghulam Sarwar Mengal said the attackers also took the slain policemen’s official weapons with them as they left.

In another incident on Friday in Panjgur, unidentified armed men targeted operatives of a pro-government armed militia (locally called a “death squad”).

In this armed attack, an operative named Jameel was killed while Ahmed was injured.

Such successive attacks in Balochistan reflect the deteriorating security situation and military tension on the ground.

No organisation has yet claimed responsibility for these incidents.
