Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said the long march will take place on 4 October no matter what. According to him, in the first stage the convoy will reach Swabi and then head for Islamabad.

Speaking at a press conference at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, he said that if the federal government takes any unconstitutional step during the long march, it will have to pay “a very heavy price”.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi alleged that federal ministers are trying to divert public attention from real issues through press conferences. He said this time the number of people joining the long march will be far higher than the government’s estimates.

It should be noted that Tehreek-e-Insaf had announced a long march towards Islamabad on 27 September, but on 25 September Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said at a press conference that the long march had been postponed until 4 October.
