Various areas of Balochistan are once again under heavy undeclared military aggression. From Kachhi and Dhadar to the border areas of Dasht and Kech, the Pakistani army is carrying out large-scale advances, bombing and ground offensives, spreading intense fear, panic and concern among local populations.

According to reports, the forces’ aggressive attacks continued for a second day in Kachhi district, Dhadar and adjoining mountain areas. Shelling by gunship helicopters and continuous drone flights have been seen in these areas.

Reports of heavy firing and clashes between forces and armed men have also been received from various places. However, military officials have issued no formal statement on the situation or the losses.

Meanwhile, according to sources in the Tump area of Kech district, there has been an alarming increase in forces’ movement around the villages of Gomazi, Dezig, Mar and Kir on the outskirts of Tump. Soldiers, armoured vehicles and tanks have been seen advancing towards these villages, while troop numbers in the Gomazi mountain range have been further increased.

In addition, helicopter patrols and drone flights continue towards the strategic Mazan Band mountain range, raising fears that the forces are preparing for a large-scale offensive.

Although no casualties in the latest attacks have been finally confirmed, local people say ordinary citizens have been the real target of this aggression carried out by the state in the name of “operations”.

Such actions in Balochistan have in the past also led to reports of grave abuses such as enforced disappearances, massacres, the burning of homes, violence against women and children and the looting of valuable property, which is why residents of Kech and Kachhi once again face forced displacement and a humanitarian crisis.
