According to important reports from Yakmach in mineral-rich Chagai district, Balochistan, several armed men, including a large number of Baloch women fighters, have entered the area and blockaded the Quetta-Taftan national highway.

According to sources, the armed men have blocked the important highway, stopped vehicles and set up snap checks and checkpoints in the area.

After the incident, all communication and commercial traffic between Quetta and Taftan has been suspended, while further details of the incident are awaited.

It should be noted that since the Baloch pro-freedom armed organisation, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), formed its special women’s unit, the Karima Armed Assault Division (KAAD), a marked expansion and intensification of armed activity has been seen across Balochistan.

In the past few days, KAAD sarmachars, together with the Qurban Unit, have been at the forefront of blockades, snap checks and attacks on Pakistani forces in various areas.

According to analysts and observers, the formal and active participation of women in the armed struggle has dealt a severe blow to Pakistan’s ruling class and security agencies, posing serious challenges to their administrative and defensive strategy for maintaining domination over Balochistan.
