Armed men ambushed an Iranian police patrol unit with a heavy attack on the road between Bampur and Iranshahr in Western Balochistan, killing two Iranian policemen and seriously injuring one.
According to reports, the incident took place on Monday while Iranian security forces’ vehicles were on routine patrol. The police vehicles were badly damaged in the armed men’s sudden attack.
An organisation called the People’s Fighters Front (PFF), which includes Jaish al-Adl and other armed groups, has formally claimed responsibility for the attack.
A statement issued by the organisation said two Toyota Hilux vehicles and one bulletproof Land Cruiser of the Iranian forces were targeted in the attack, killing all the personnel in the Hilux vehicles.
