Five people were injured in a hand grenade attack and firing in two separate violent incidents in the coastal areas of Gwadar and Pasni in Balochistan.

According to police and local sources, the first incident took place in the densely populated Jannat Bazaar area of Gwadar, where unidentified armed men threw a hand grenade at a mobile phone shop last night.

3 people in the shop were injured in the grenade blast.

According to police, the injured have been identified as Shaukat, his son Baqir and Zafar, who are said to be from Kashmore district in Sindh. After the blast, security forces and police reached the scene and cordoned off the area, while the injured were immediately moved to a local hospital.

Meanwhile, in the coastal town of Pasni, armed men opened fire, seriously injuring two people.

According to police, Hakeem, son of Majeed, a resident of Kalanch (now Ward No. 6, Pasni), and Riaz, son of Aali, a resident of Basol (Ormara), were injured in the firing.

Immediately after the incident, both injured were taken to Pak-Oman Hospital, Pasni, where, after first aid and in view of their critical condition, they were moved to Karachi for further treatment.

After both incidents, police have begun formal investigations; however, no armed organisation has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
