7 people were killed and 18 injured in a collision between two Mazda trucks and a passenger van on a bridge near Zamindar Hotel in Machh, in the Kachhi area of Balochistan.
Women and children are among the dead and injured. The injured have been moved to Civil Hospital Machh, where the condition of several is said to be critical. Those in critical condition are being moved to Quetta for further treatment.
Meanwhile, a shortage of ambulances in Machh is making it difficult to move the injured to Quetta. According to official sources, only one government ambulance is working at the hospital, while two are out of order.
Because no ambulances are available, local people are collecting donations and hiring private vehicles on their own to move the injured to Quetta.
According to police, the accident was caused by a collision between two Mazda trucks and a passenger van on the bridge. Nomadic families were travelling in both Mazda trucks.
