The court of the District and Sessions Judge in Chaman cancelled the interim bail of Asghar Khan Achakzai, provincial president of the Awami National Party Balochistan, and ordered his arrest from the courtroom.
Police took him into custody.
According to police, Asghar Khan Achakzai was arrested in murder and kidnapping cases.
The cases relate to the killing of a local man, Taimur Shah, during a tribal dispute in Chaman a year ago.
According to police, a case was registered against Asghar Khan Achakzai under Section 302 (murder) and Section 365 (kidnapping) on the complaint of the victim’s father, Zahir Shah.
Today, after the court cancelled his interim bail, he was arrested in the courtroom and then moved to the Chaman Bypass police lock-up.
Asghar Khan Achakzai is also a former member of the Balochistan Assembly.
